This is one of those songs that quickly "wrote itself" in about a half hour. The groove felt so good, the words popped out, pen and paper were handy ... so boom, song captured. Written lyrically from a single person's perspective looking forward to the discovery of a new love ... be that what it may. Musically, this song was intentional in its very simple repeating chord pattern so that other musicians could easily learn to play along at local music jams. So no complicated chords, no busy arrangement, and the lyrics were designed to be just interesting enough to keep your ears connected. A story/feel good song to hopefully put a smile on your face. Songwriting is a lot like a day dream; it can take you places and you never have to leave the room. {Hey, don't laugh … I have saved a lot of money on vacations like this!} This song was my first attempt at writing a rap dialog. I thought it would be cool to invite one of Tennessee’s treasures, Clay McIntosh, to guest rap on this song … and man, the dude nailed it!
Listen to this track and see if you don’t agree!

    Lyrics

    NEW TROUBLE

I DIDN'T HAVE THE LUXURY OF KNOWING HIM WELL
I JUST STEPPED RIGHT OUT THERE THINKING, "OH WHAT THE HELL"
I'VE GOT NOTHING TO LOSE AND NO ONE AT HOME
AND MAN I'M TIRED OF THIS BEING ALONE, I NEED SOME ...

NEW TROUBLE, COME ON NOW GIVE ME SOME
NEW TROUBLE, WE COULD HAVE SOME FUN
NEW TROUBLE, QUIT PLAYIN' IT SAFE I NEED SOME NEW TROUBLE IN THE VERY WORST WAY

NOW LOVE IS DANGEROUS SO WE WON'T CALL IT THAT, NO NEED TO NAME IT OR SIGN A CONTRACT, THERE'S SAFETY IN NUMBERS, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD BUT THIS PARTY OF ONE YALL, IS REALLY GETTING' OLD ... I NEED SOME

NEW TROUBLE, COME ON NOW GIVE ME SOME
NEW TROUBLE, WE COULD HAVE SOME FUN
NEW TROUBLE, QUIT PLAYIN' IT SAFE I NEED SOME NEW TROUBLE IN THE VERY WORST WAY

A GUY DOWN AT WORK HAS ASKED FOR A COUPLE YEARS, IF I WOULD HANG OUT FOR A COUPLE BEERS, THIS BOX I'M LIVIN' IN IS SURE GETTING SMALL, I THINK I'LL HANG OUT FOR A BEER AFTER ALL ... I NEED SOME

NEW TROUBLE, COME ON NOW GIVE ME SOME
NEW TROUBLE, WE COULD HAVE SOME FUN
NEW TROUBLE, QUIT PLAYIN' IT SAFE I NEED SOME NEW TROUBLE IN THE VERY WORST WAY

    Rap for 1st Round:

I saw you there I took a chance I didn't know your name, But your curly hair was everywhere and then I heard you sing,
Could you would you want to know me I'm an awesome guy, aim to please, on my knees thinkin' we should try, whatever I was doin' for the rest of my night's
gonna have to take a back seat, the love of my life has appeared and she's here and she's singing my song, if it's trouble on the double and you want it come on!

    Rap 2nd Round:

The greatest risk you ever take's not getting' in the game
You take a spin, play to win, my heart is on a string, whatever YOU were doin' for the rest of YOUR Life's gonna have to take a back seat, the love of YOUR life has appeared, I'm here, I'm singin' YOUR song, If it's trouble on the double and you want it, come on!
