A very personal song about surviving a cancer death sentence. A doctor told me in Jan 2007 that I had 6 months to live and I had "better get my final plans in order". The words to this song's chorus were gifted to me when I was awoken by God's presence in my bedroom after a deep sleep one night. I had received a healing gift when 5 friends laid hands on me and prayed for my healing. Before I went to bed, I was questioning why God had chosen me to receive this blessing of a miraculous healing? I rationed there were so many other more deserving, more "religious" , and more youthful candidates who should have received this gift, ... and not me. I did not feel close enough to God, or worthy that he should pick me to bless in this way. I kept asking him, why me? I have not done your work.... and why have you waited all my life to show yourself to me in this way now? The chorus to this song was given to me as the answer to this question. I felt God awaken me in the middle of a deep sleep, and push me out of my bed to write down the words to this song. I was so tired and sleepy (and on kemo!) that in the morning, I couldn't remember if I dreamed this happened or not? So I went to my computer, and there were these words typed clearly for me to read! In perfect meter, perfect rhyme, making perfect sense. My prayer was answered. I knew at that moment that God is real! ( and a suspicioned songwriter, too!) There were so many miracles associated with the writing of this song, that I don't think you would really believe all the "coincidences" along the way .... so I'm not going to tell you any more than what I have revealed here. I thank God that he let me live to see my son raised!
