STANDING ROOM ONLY at Linda's recent show Feb. 27, 2026, at the historic #RomanTheater in Red Lodge, Montana, a date purposefully selected exactly 83 years after the 1943 Smith Coal Mine disaster occurred, where in this very room (83 years ago), a memorial service was held for the 75 coal miners who suddenly passed away as the result of Montana's worst and most deadly mining disaster. Linda's song “Goodbye Wives and Daughters” tells the story and was featured in video tonight recapping The Smith Coal Mine disaster of 1943. Tonight we remembered these men, honored their descendents. stopped to appreciate the sacrifices these "Soldiers of Coal" made and strangely, their presence was sensed in this intimate evening of music, story telling and history recounted. Much gratitude to the Carbon County Historical Society & Museum and the community of Red Lodge, Montana for showing up to say you care and you remember. And many thanks to guest vocalist, Mike Holm, who did a beautiful job singing on this poignant and haunting piece of music.
